Piano

Growing up, my dream was to become a concert pianist. I am still passionate about piano as a performative medium and have given public concerts throughout my time in college.

A few accomplishments I’m proud of:

Participated in 54 concerts, 19 of which were solo

Winner, Patrick Butler Prize for Piano Performance (Apr 2020)

Participant, National Arts Centre of Canada Young Artists Program (Jun 2017)

Honorable Mention, Dorothy van Waynen Piano Competition (Apr 2017)

Participant, Bowdoin International Music Festival (Jun 2016)

2nd place, Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition (Mar 2016)

2nd place, US Open Music Competition, Chamber Music category (Feb 2016)

3rd place, CMTANC US International Music Competition (May 2015)

Raised $1200 for Ebola research in a benefit concert

Check out a few of my favorite performances:

Also known as the “Appassionata” Étude, Liszt’s 10th Transcendental Étude is a dazzling tour de force filled with overlapping hands and treacherous octaves.

Beethoven’s penultimate Sonata was my favorite piece of music for a long time—it plays almost like program music, sinking to the deepest grief before rising in exuberant triumph.

Ondine is one of the most captivating and evocative works in the literature. When I hear it, I envision the moonlight dancing on the waves.
